Holidays Made Here: 2019

The second year, as soon as Warner Bros. Studios announced their Holidays Made Here event, my mom and I immediately booked our tour.

This time around I brought a friend, and we ended up meeting up with another friend who was going on the same day.

We ate before, knowing it was probably not worth the price for the food and we could do something different. We had a later tour in the afternoon, which brought us to Stars Hollow just as the sun was setting. I wanted to be there for the lights.

We took the tour (again, standard to the studio), then we were dropped off at Stage 48, the interactive exhibit with the Friends Central Perk set, a recreated cafe, studio store and more. From there, we wandered through Stars Hollow.

This time, they held nothing back.

Lorelai's House

Lorelai's house had a couple booths for coffee and other diner type snacks. I got a coffee and poptart! We walked through the house, which featured costumes from the show, worn by Lorelai, Rory and Luke in the foyer. Throughout the house, while not actual furniture from the show, they'd done recreations of Rory's room and the living room, for some fun photo ops.

Stars Hollow at night

As night started to fall, the lights around town started to turn on, music was piped through the speakers. It was an absolute dream. Not only do you feel like you might see Rory, Lorelai, Luke or any of your other favorite townspeople, you turn into the main character yourself. This time, there were lights on all the main features, props set up in front of the storefront facade/practical sets.

We took pictures, we drank coffee, we sang along and reminisced on our favorite scenes and took it all in.

This was a next level transformation - It felt like a Saturday night in Stars Hollow as my friend and I had our coffee and walked through the streets, admiring the twinkling lights, taking advantage of the photo ops and singing along to the piped in music in the speakers throughout Stars Hollow.

It really felt like we'd been transported into the TV series. It's a great chance to just be in the moment and not feel rushed either. Warner Bros. really is about making dreams come true. And I thought it couldn't get any better...Boy, was I wrong!

That's all for now,

Shelby
